Yet people are claiming this is a great upgrade for photographers that are on the largest version of their suite. There is no knowledge given as to how new features are being utilized or what changes are made to the camera model matching with the update.

I would love to see Adobe continue to make RAW processing in Camera RAW continue to improve. It is getting to the point where the only disadvantage to using the software is the price (it is not free). Right now, it looks like Canon’s solution is superior to this in almost every way.

At first glance, it doesn’t really matter to me whether you are using Lightroom or Camera Raw to set up your camera profiles, but then I think about it. I love using Lightroom to adjust my camera profiles. I have found the workflow of using the new Camera Raw workflow to be completely unpleasant (imo, others will probably disagree with me). In Lighroom, your adjustments are always live and the settings are always on the full screen and in a single panel. This makes adjusting anything much more intuitive and faster.

In Camera Raw, the settings are generally in two or more panels that are scattered about the interface. Some things, like white balance, are in a single panel, while others are in the Basic panel. And the Basic panel is a totally different interface from the Basic panel in Lightroom. You also cannot adjust a ton of settings at once. The settings that make sense to adjust live in the Basic panel and you can view only those adjustments at once. If you want to have different settings live you have to toggle the Preview on and off to do that. Each change of the Preview off/on switches between live and cached settings.
